WHAT IS LOX 10% LIDOCAINE TOPICAL SPRAY?

Lox Aerosol 10% Lidocaine is made by reputable Neon Laboratories. Lox Spray supply in a glass bottle with the aerosol applicator. Lox Spray is a local topical anesthetic solution that contains Lidocaine 10% of. Primarily used for the following conditions – anal fissure, local anesthesia (numb tissues in a specific area), piles, and a topical anesthetic for tattooing. You should not use Lox Spray topical if you are allergic to any type of numbing medicine. You are allergic to any other local anesthetics of the same class (such as prilocaine or bupivacaine). You must not be given Lidocaine if any of the above apply to you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor before you are given Lidocaine.

Lidocaine topical (also known as lignocaine, and xylocaine) works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to the brain which decreases the sensation of pain. Lidocaine belongs to a class of medications called local anesthetics. It works by stopping the sensation of pain by acting on peripheral nerves in the body. Lidocaine 10% topical (for use on the skin) is used to reduce pain or discomfort caused by skin irritations such as sunburn, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and minor cuts, scratches, or burns. Lidocaine topical is also used to treat rectal discomfort caused by hemorrhoids. Lidocaine (also available as Lox) is safe if used in the prescribed dose for the prescribed duration as advised by your doctor.

What is 10% Lidocaine used for?

Lidocaine is introduced to use for pain relieving in medical procedures with the advantages of rapid action and minimal side effects. 10% Lidocaine spray is a form of local anesthetic method that use in obstetrics and gynecology procedures and has favorable efficacy in reducing pain. A 10% lidocaine numbing cream or spray may be used before skin procedures like laser treatments, injections, micro-needling, and more.

How much lidocaine is too much?

The average toxicity threshold for lidocaine is typically a total dose of 4.5 milligrams of medication per kilogram of body weight (mg/kg). Doctors can control the absorption rate using other medications. The maximum dose of lidocaine (plain, without vasoconstrictor) is 4.5 mg/kg (not to exceed 300 mg). Example patient weight – 10 kg. A total dose that can be used for this patient = 4.5 mg/kg x 10 kg = 45 mg.

How much does lidocaine effect last?

It is in as little as four minutes and can last from 30 minutes up to three hours. However, other factors can play a role in how long the drug’s effects last. It’s a fast-acting local anesthetic. While its effects normally last for 30 to 60 minutes, it can last much longer if administered alongside epinephrine.

Can lidocaine damage nerves?

Topical application of local anesthetics decreases blood flow in nerves which may either cause injury directly by ischemia or potentiate direct cytotoxic effects.

Does lidocaine heal or just numb?

Lidocaine 10 percent is used to temporarily numb and relieve pain from minor burns (including sunburn), skin abrasions, insect bites, and other painful conditions affecting mucous membranes. It does not affect wound healing.

Who cannot use lidocaine?

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency; Methemoglobinemia, a type of blood disorder; A type of slowed heart rhythm disorder called heart block; Decreased lung function; Liver problems; Seizures; A condition where the body is unable to maintain adequate blood flow called shock; Large open wound; Anemia from pyruvate kinase and G6PD deficiencies; Sepsis.
